ARTIST: Ghostface Killah
RELEASE: 2013
INTERVIEWEE: Adrian Younge
Working with Ghostface Killah -- one of rap's most celebrated figures -- musician and composer Adrian Younge crafted a groundbreaking work. Twelve Reasons to Die underscored just how versatile and limitless the hip hop idiom could be.
"An A&R guy from the label reached out to me and asked, 'Would you be interested in working with Ghostface Killah?'" Younge smiles at the memory. "I was like, 'Of course!' But I told him, 'If I do something with Ghostface, I don't want to just do an album,'" he recalls replying. "I want to do a story."
