Past, Present and Future
ARTIST: Al Stewart
RELEASE: 1973
INTERVIEWEE: Al Stewart
Scotland-born Al Stewart has always been fascinated (and more importantly, inspired) by history. Real-life characters and stories from the past have provided rich fodder from which he has created memorable songs.
"I'd been reading history all my life," he explains. "The only other thing [besides love] that I knew anything about was history, so I thought, 'Well, that's it then. I'm gonna make a historical folk-rock album.'"
