Of Cabbages and Kings
ARTIST: Chad and Jeremy
RELEASE: 1967
INTERVIEWEE: Jeremy Clyde
Best known today as an actor on television and in film, Jeremy Clyde is a bit bemused that someone wants to talk with him about Of Cabbages and Kings, a project he was part of more than a half century ago. But he's happy to reminisce about it when asked. "You could sort of tell we were either ahead of our time... or behind," he muses.
Viewed against the duo's previous work, the album was somewhat unlikely. Of Cabbages and Kings was a rather mature, grown-up work. "Remember," notes Clyde, "none of us thought this was going to last. We all thought, 'You get three years out of this, it's a miracle. Then, you're going to do some proper work!'"
