Patrick Moraz is known best for his tenures in Yes (1974-76) and The Moody Blues (1978-91). But there's much more to the life and work of this prodigiously talented musician from Morges, Switzerland. After years leading and/or playing in bands, he embarked upon a solo project that would explore his fascination with the rhythmic indigenous musical traditions of Africa and South America. He had first been exposed to the music of the Southern Hemisphere when traveling as musical director for an Asian ballet in 1972 between band commitments. "That was a very enlightening and inspiring time to think about the concept of what was going to become The Story of I," Moraz says.
