Haunted
ARTIST: Poe
RELEASE: 2000
INTERVIEWEE: Poe
Whether with lyrics, instrumentally or with both, artists endeavor to convey their thoughts, ideas and feelings to listeners. Sometimes what they share is a document of their own personal communications with those close to them. And that's part of what's contained within Haunted, by alternative artist Poe. The second album from the American artist born Anne Decatur Danielewski can be loosely classified as an electro-pop collection, but doing so sells it short. The 2000 release is also a brilliant and fascinating concept album, a meditation on Poe's very complicated relationship with her late father.
